Law), to start her journey from east to west,&#xD;
throughout the American landscape. This is&#xD;
the basic plot of My Blueberry Nights (2007),&#xD;
the first full-length film in English directed by Wong Kar-wai, also known for his other films like Chungking Express (1994), In the Mood for Love (2000) or 2046 (2004).&#xD;
My Blueberry Nights is the story of a girl who goes soul-searching after discovering her boyfriend has left her for another woman. As the movie opens we are presented with an image of trains running back and forth, like the lives of the protagonists, particularly Elizabeth who will be going on a road trip to find herself.</description>

Abstract: What should a manifesto look and sound like? Most are short, visual, and slogan-filled. But how short is too short? When does a manifesto become a slogan? On the other hand, their impact diminishes rapidly as the page count increases. Manifestos are a form of advertising, and who wants to read a 200-page ad? A manifesto is meant to make its point immediately, forcefully, eschewing reasoned argument. With a bang: not a whimper. Length and visual appeal are just two aspects of manifesto form. Theatricality, narrative, collaboration, distribution, and poetic elements are some of the other features discussed in the last in a series of three essays on the manifesto written exclusively for CQN.</description>

um acto político. O contrário torna-se cada vez mais difícil de afirmar. Neste Portugal que se encontra nas mãos de um corpo político sem voz cultural, as decisões que nos são impostas ultrapassam a tão necessária&#xD;
condição de austeridade para fundarem um estado catatónico, onde a cultura é vista&#xD;
como uma exigência caprichosa, supérflua e&#xD;
desnecessária. É precisamente o esvaziamento&#xD;
de criatividade na retórica política que nos impede de ultrapassar as peripécias e os enredos partidários em que nos tecem. Com o poder virado para si mesmo, sem participação democrática, sem debate, sem descoberta, sem soluções, a paralisia chega-nos muda e oblíqua.&#xD;

Abstract: The association between the avant-garde and advertising is longstanding and bidirectional. Advertising, after all, is one of the “shocks” of modernity described by Walter Benjamin in his writings on Baudelaire. Avant-garde art reproduces the primary urban shock effects of crowds, advertisements, and other stimuli. The manifesto has always functioned as an advertisement for artistic movements, as&#xD;
for political and social ones. In this study&#xD;
I examine the relationship between the historical avant-garde and contemporary non-traditional or “guerrilla” advertising&#xD;
and marketing strategies. The term “guerrilla” is used as shorthand for a variety of new strategies of consumer engagement, particularly those using social networks. Each section is inspired by a key term adopted (or co-opted) from the language&#xD;
of advertising and marketing.</description>
