Título: Pedagogia Waldorf : um contributo da Educação Artistica para o desenvolvimento da empatia

Resumo: This study had the goal of understanding the balance between art education and empathy studying three different pedagogic models as the result of a research and observation in three fourth grade classes, from three schools with different teaching methods. The study addresses the Waldorf education method, having as comparison the pedagogy developed in a Public School and João de Deus school. The Waldorf education promotes the individual development in a holistic form, creating an environment of empathy between students and teachers in a profound respect for nature, where art has a central role. We interviewed former Waldorf students, teachers from all three schools, observed classes and questioned students on the context of each school and its relationship with art education. In conclusion, the Waldorf education, where the art education is much present in the daily school, contributes to the creation of greater empathy within the school context
