Resumo: The aim of this study is to contribute to knowledge, awareness and appreciation of our local and national heritage, in particular Solar dos Zagallos. With the awareness of the value of artistic education in the integral formation of a person and it’s freedom, from respect and critical spirit to a democratic society, has led us to the creation of several workshops, in a casual or non-casual environment, starting from the analysis and interpretation of several works of art, as well as the transition of history of art knowledge, threw several information media. Taking to accord the three educational foundations of artistic education: the study of artistic work, direct contact with art and the participation in several artistic practices and taking into account the need to diversify strategies in order to introduce changes in the context in which we are involved, the methodology adopted was a methodology of investigation – action, which took place in on the grouping of schools Elias Garcia, in Almada. After the workshops results analysis and reflection , the project allows to conclude that the establishment of partnerships with local cultural entities, artists, dialogue with the artwork and the realization of artistic expression work through problem solving methodology contribute for the appreciation and knowledge of our culture and identity and subsequently the culture of others, for the development of their perception and interpretation capacities of meaning, for increasing their self-esteem and the development of creativity and its problem-solving ability
