Olhando a satisfação : um estudo exploratório em casais portugueses

Abstract

A presente investigação quantitativa insere-se na área da Psicologia da Família, em particular, no âmbito da Conjugalidade. Pretende-se estudar numa amostra de 213 casais portugueses: 1) as relações entre a satisfação conjugal global, a proximidade conjugal e a vinculação ao cônjuge; 2) as relações entre as variáveis anteriores e as variáveis satisfação com a intimidade e satisfação com a comunicação e conflitos; 3) analisar todas as relações anteriores globalmente e intra-casal; 4) diferenças de género e a convergência versus divergência intra-casal de percepções da satisfação, da proximidade, da vinculação, da intimidade e comunicação e conflitos. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a EASAVIC (Narciso e Costa, 1996), a IOS (Aron, Aron e Smollan (1992) e A & QRI-S (Moreira,1998). Encontraram-se correlações significativas positivas entre todas as variáveis e não se encontraram diferenças significativas face ao sexo. Verificaram-se diferenças significativas face à proximidade e intimidade intra-casal.

The current quantitative research is enclosed in the field of Family Psychology, mainly in marital life. Our goals were to study (within a sample of 213 Portuguese couples): 1) the relations between global marital satisfaction, closeness and attachment to the spouse; 2) the relations between the previous variables and the variables satisfaction with intimacy and satisfaction with communication and conflicts; 3) all the relations (globally) and within couples; 4) gender differences and convergence versus divergence on perceptions of satisfaction, closeness, attachment, intimacy and communication and conflicts. The following instruments were used: EASAVIC (“Evaluation of Satisfaction in Areas of Marital Life Scale”; Narciso and Costa, 1996), IOS (Inclusion of Other in the Self Scale; Aron, Aron and Smollan, 1992) and A & QRI-S (“Attachment to Father/Mother/Significant other Scale”; Moreira,1998). The results of the research revealed positive and significant correlations between all variables and no significant differences regarding gender. Still, significant differences concerning closeness and intimacy were found within couples.
