O sudoeste do Gharb Al-Andalus nos séculos VII e IX: relações sociais e território

Abstract

Este trabalho incide sobre o estudo do estabelecimento das tribos árabes e berberes, nos séculos VIII e IX, no Sudoeste do Gharb al-Andalus, na zona compreendida entre o Tejo e o Guadiana, e em que medida afectaram as estruturas herdadas da época visigótica. Abordaremos o conceito de tribo, a origem e expansão das tribos árabes e berberes, o seu estabelecimento no al-Andalus, as suas disputas internas e interacção com os hispânicos. Procuraremos verificar quais as continuidades e rupturas face ao mundo romano-visigótico no domínio político, económico, social e cultural, nesta primeira fase do domínio muçulmano da Península Ibérica.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the establishment of arab and berber tribes in the VIII and IX centuries, on the southwest Gharb al-Andalus, on the area between Tejo and Guadiana rivers and how did they affect the structures inherited from the visigothic time. We will approach the concept of «tribe», the origin and expansion of arab and berber tribes, their settlement in al-Andalus, their internal disputes and interaction with the hispanics. We will set the continuities and major differences, regarding the roman-visigothic world in the politic, economic, social and cultural domain, on this early stage of muslim rule of the Peninsula.
