A aceitação do desenho arqueológico foi um processo longo, em que os primeiros
desenhos de materiais arqueológicos, que prefiguram em publicações, surgem
sensivelmente, no século XVI. Denota-se um constante desenvolvimento no que diz
respeito ao desenho em si, como também ao aperfeiçoamento das técnicas empregues na
sua representação gráfica. Com o avançar do tempo também se avança a nível
metodológico, como é o caso da adoção das novas tecnologias na Arqueologia. O novo
grafismo tecnológico da representação dos materiais torna-se mais informatizado, mas,
contudo, o que é realmente importante é a defesa da complementaridade entre o desenho
tradicional e as novas tecnologias.
The acceptance of archaeological drawing in the midst of the discipline constitutes a long and complex process, with the first examples appearing around the 16th century. Not only the act of drawing has been in constant development, but the techniques related to its graphic representation have evolved as well. As time presses on, Archaeology has adopted new and more innovative technologies to complement its methodology. In regard to this paradigm, representation of archaeological materials is now a better informatized endeavor. However, an important act is still necessary to address: the defense of complementarity between traditional drawings and new technologies.
