O relatório que se apresenta pretende estudar a vida e trabalho de Maria de Lourdes Modesto. Procura igualmente dar a conhecer o arquivo audiovisual da RTP e um pouco da história da televisão. Partindo do percurso da televisão desde o seu aparecimento até aos dias de hoje, analisaremos a evolução da RTP enquanto primeira emissora televisiva em Portugal. O mesmo acontece com o estudo do seu Arquivo do Audiovisual, pois é necessário em primeira instância explicar como surgiram os aquivos.
Na segunda parte do trabalho estudaremos a figura de Maria de Lourdes Modesto. Exploraremos assim a sua biografia, o seu programa de televisão e as suas obras debruçando-nos mais afincadamente sobre As Receitas da TV, Cozinha Tradicional Portuguesa e Cozinhar com Vegetais. Por fim, importou salientar as diferenças entre mulheres e homens como chefs de cozinha. Dedicou-se por isso um último capítulo do relatório para se perceber qual o papel da mulher na cozinha ao longo do tempo e quais as dificuldades que ainda hoje enfrentam.
The report presented aims to study the life and work of Maria de Lourdes Modesto. It seeks to also present the audiovisual archives of RTP and a little of the history of television. Starting from the beginning of television itself, we will analyze the evolution of RTP as the first television station in Portugal. We will use the same process for the story of its archive, as it is necessary to, first and foremost, explain the origins of these archives. The second part of this report approaches the figure of Maria de Lourdes Modesto. In this chapter we will explore her biography, her television show and her works, paying special attention to the programs Cozinha Tradicional Portuguesa (Portuguese Traditional Cuisine) and Cozinhar com Vegetais (Cooking with vegetables). Lastly, it was important to emphasize the differences between man and women as Chefs. For this reason, a last chapter of the report was dedicated to the understanding of the women’s role in the kitchen over time and the difficulties they still face in our days
