| Abstract: | Understanding a landscape. Knowledge processes between the relationship of sculpture, the female body and nature is a theoretical-practical dissertation within the Masters in Sculpture, in the specialty of Sculpture, on the interrelationships between the female body and nature within the sculpture from a contemporary art perspective. For this, a critical perpetiva is analyzed such as the current treatment of the female body, the relation of the woman with the nature and the socialization of the human being with the natural environment - since there is a hierarchy where the human being has the need of domination and possession for nature. Next, the subjectivity of the human being with the natural environment through the landscape and its evolution, both historical and artistic, is investigated, and as all these themes can converge today in the three-dimensional sculptural, as well as the analysis of the work of certain artists that throughout history of art dealt with topics related to this dissertation. It is an investigation that has developed both theoretically and in the artistic methodology over the two years that lasted the Master. As a result, a selection of works accomplished during these two years of the Masters in Sculpture is presented, in which one tries to determine the evolution in what is relative to the theoretical, concetual and formal line of work, based on the concepts introduced previously. Formally, these works are carried out with rudimentary materials such as clay and plaster and a mixture with natural materials such as earth or plants, accompanied sometimes with photographs of the experiences in the natural or urban environment. It is a conversation between the self and the natural space. In this way, the investigation of this dissertation is based on the artistic knowledge as a praxis of the place - a unfolding of the space. In which one intends to understand space, to experience it and to study it in its three-dimensionality in itself and that which arises from it |
