| Abstract: | This work project aims to design a spatial curatorial intervention inside room 33, located on the first floor of the Municipal Museum of Faro, which will be implemented from March 2019 to September 2019 (temporary exhibition). The work developed here proposes a reflection on the development of an executive curatorial moment, based on a scientific curatorship. Therefore, to show the process of development of the exhibit narrative starting a scientific study (this was previously given by the area of Art History) and how it could be translated spatially. In this study we intend to demonstrate and understand, theoretically, the process of planning and organizing the exhibition "Carlos Porfírio: Dialogues of Modernism". In it, we will also discuss basic museology’s theoretical fundamentals for the execution of this exhibition project, such as: the function of exhibitions in museums, and the relevance of the curator's role in museological institutions in general. Throughout this essay, other basics of preparation for an exhibition will be explored, particularly dedicated to each category, such as: space surveying and measurement of the average public eye in exhibitions, illumination and air conditioning, parietal texts and subtitles, among others. The intention of these theoretical notions thus support the aesthetic experience conceptually developed for the moment. Also in discussion is the appreciation of the expanded curatorial concept, which emerged recently as a theory, which consists in the organization of dynamics related to the subject of the exhibition, which will bring the discourse to the public space. In conclusion, we have three highlights in this essay - to reflect on a starting point in Art History which is Carlos Porfírio and the people who interacted with him in the artistic sphere, to expose this reflection through an expositive narrative and original contents, and finally to bring the subject to a public discussion space |
